I grew up in Ada, OK and after finishing college there and two graduate schools in Texas, I was hired to work for the Federal Government.
After 32 years of moving around the country and traveling almost constantly, I had the opportunity to visit hundreds of cities and small towns from Alaska to Puerto Rico and Massachusetts to Hawaii.
During the last 10 years of my jobs with the government, I was keeping an eye out for a place to retire that would be better than what I remembered having back in Ada while growing up. However, I never found it.
When I retired from the Feds, I was offered a second career in academia at East Central University in Ada. My family and I jumped at it!
We came back home and brought two grown kids and their families with us! Now click your heels together three times and say, “There’s no place like Okla-home-a”.
